Aspex Semiconductor release H.264 encoding
accelerator
Aspex Semiconductor today
announced the availability of Accelera AVE for HD H.264.
It accelerates the performance of PC-based software H.264 SD and HD
video encoding for IPTV, HD-DVD/Blu-Ray, video-on-demand, corporate
streaming and broadcast applications.
Accelera AVE boosts performance by 3x-4x for HD H.264 encoding and
gives realtime performance for SD encoding, whilst still providing
high quality, low bit rate output. (Realtime HD H.264 performance is
available using two cards.)
The Aspex accelerator cards take the weight off the PC by performing
the processor intensive functions found in encoding solutions.
Together with MainConcept, Aspex have developed a H.264 encoding
platform which takes advantage of the MainConcept H.264 software
encoder found inside many leading third party encoding applications.
It maintains the same user interface in the MainConcept encoder,
therefore if you are a fan of Adobe Premiere Pro, Sorenson Squeeze,
Digital Rapids StreamZ or BlueFish Symmetry to name but a few, it
allows you to immediately benefit from a significant uplift in
encoding performance without having to learn a new tool.
