Bluefish444 release Symmetry Capture/Playback software |
|
We are pleased to announce that the Gold Master version of Bluefish444's Symmetry software that was demonstrated at IBC that allows a workstation to be used as a stand alone capture and playback station is now released.
Simplicity was the key factor considered when creating Symmetry™. Today’s creative artist needs to spend their time creating and designing, not learning a complex NLE system simply to get media in and out of their workstation. Symmetry™ has all the tools required directly in front of the user. The software allows the user to frame accurately capture a single clip, log and batch capture a series of clips, and to either assemble, insert or preview edit to tape. Symmetry™ supports both uncompressed 10 bit YUV(4:2:2) V210 QuickTime and uncompressed 10 bit RGB(4:4:4) Cineon file formats for both HD and SD. Both file formats are the industry standard which ensures compatibility with most high end compositing applications. By having this choice Symmetry™ allows an artist to decide between the colour space that best suits their needs, or the file format that allows them to be move most easily between applications. But why is Symmetry's RGB support important? The answer is very simple, we see using Red, Green and Blue light therefore in a perfect world we would capture, process and playback all images in the RGB colour space. With this in mind every compositing application on the planet works in RGB colour space. Therefore, by supporting Cineon RGB sequential files, Symmetry gives the user several advantages:
Symmetry™ incorporates support for the capture and playback of a single stereo pair of AES/EBU digital audio signals at 48KHz, with a bit depth of 24 bit. The development of this software will be an ongoing process and currently planned for future releases (among others) are;
Symmetry™ is compatible with and included FREE with the following products, Wildblue AV, HD Iridium XP, HD Fury, and HD Lust. Please refer to the certified hardware compatibility section for a list of certified hardware configurations. The hardware required to support Symmetry will depending on the mode it is operated in. If run in the RGB mode it requires a higher performance disk array as the RGB format stores more information per frame. |
