Bluefish444 adds uncompressed 10 bit RGB support to Wildblue AV and HD range |
|
At IBC Bluefish444 announced that 10 bit RGB support is now
included as standard for its Wildblue AV and entire range of HD SDI
capture cards. These boards now allow users the choice of capturing in
either uncompressed 10 bit YUV (4:2:2) or uncompressed 10 bit RGB (4:4:4) colour spaces. "Digital content creation has become more significant in today’s post-production environment. Compositors want to work in RGB 4:4:4 colour space and editors want to work in YUV 4:2:2 colour space. With the introduction of RGB sequential file support on the HD range and Wildblue AV, Bluefish444 hardware becomes a valuable asset at any point of the production environment whether it be 4:2:2 or 4:4:4." said Matt Dowling, Product Manager at Bluefish444. "We do the colour space conversion in hardware, so even a 10 bit YUV source such as Digital Betacam or HD D5 can be captured to disk in 10 bit sequential Cineon - an industry standard RGB file format commonly used in compositing. This keeps file compatibility with other high-end systems such Discreet Inferno®, Smoke® and Quantel iQ®and eQ® and allows users to archive in the highest quality available today.” Included with all HD boards and the Wildblue AV is Bluefish444's Symmetry software. This software allows 10 bit RGB and YUV capture and playback so that media can be captured from or put to tape. Click here to find out more about Symmetry. |
